The city is nearing the completion of the Neighbourhood Visioning phase of the OCP update process. After the Open House the city created a survey related to all of the material presented so that anyone that missed the Open House still has an opportunity to provide input at this stage. The survey will be closing at the end of the day on Monday. Please feel free to take the survey if you are interested.
Neighbourhood Visioning Survey Update: Closing date of the survey is Monday, April 6, 2015
The Neighbourhood Visioning Process included four phases: the LOVE OUR CITY workshop (Feb 14), Processing Results (Feb 18 & 19), an Open House (Feb 28) and a Final Report (coming soon). The purpose of the Open House was to share “What We Heard” during the first two phases and to gather public feedback. This survey, which includes all of the content presented at the Open House, is another way for the community to provide input into the process. These results will be used to inform the Final Report and the future stages of the Official Community Plan. Although we’re nearing the end of this Visioning Process, there will be more opportunities coming up to provide input into the new Official Community Plan.
About OUR CITY 2041
The updated OCP will provide a renewed vision for New Westminster, and the regulatory framework to guide growth toward that vision. The OCP will contain policies on housing, parks & open space, arts & culture, heritage, energy, utility services, transportation, well-being, hazards, economy and environment. The OCP will also include a land use designation map, which will indicate the future land uses that would be supported by Council. The land use designations will determine future development and redevelopment of property within the city. The policies and map, together with tools and actions for implementation, will help to shape the future growth of OUR CITY.
