Connecting your smart home devices to the cloud and your network to easily manage your heating, lighting and washing systems from your smartphone is a reality. Even entering the house without the need to use a traditional metal key has become part of our daily life. Interoperability and security are the key attributes of the connected home. Devices have to connect reliably, seamlessly and securely. Integrators and device manufactures have to make sure that connections and transmitted data are protected and secure. And all of this should be realized as easy as possible. Matter, the IP-based connectivity standard for connected homes introduced by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), will enable communication among a wide range of smart devices. NXP offers multiple solutions for implementing Matter. This session will focus on the security aspects of Matter and show how NXP’s EdgeLock SE051 Secure Element, providing the security protocols required by Matter, simplifies the integration of security in combination with various MCUs and MPU solutions.
